So just where is this Valley Center place anyway?

We have recently moved to Valley Center CA, and I am finding (not surprisingly I guess) that not too many folks outside of the San Diego region know where Valley Center is. So I made a little map that I’ve shown to some folks to put it in context – thought I might as well put it out here too…

E-Waste Recycling day – CSU San Marcos – Feb 7, 2009

Not often you get the chance to get rid of your electronics waste at no cost without disposing of it incorrectly. Now’s your chance!

This from the UT:

SAN MARCOS — Cal State San Marcos will sponsor a free recycling event for electronic waste from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 7.

Acceptable items include computer monitors, cell phones, camcorders and fax machines. Prohibited items include household appliances and hazardous waste.

Organizers said personal data on computers will be destroyed.

The e-waste collection will take place in Parking Lot B at the university, 333 S. Twin Oaks Valley Road.

We Do Not Accept: Household/Commercial Appliances or Hazardous Materials/ Waste All personal data is erased or destroyed for your protection

 

Looks like they will wipe your hard drive clean too. But I would suggest doing that yourself just to be sure.
